White Tailed Deer

 

One of the interesting situations we are now facing in the Maritime provinces is the explosion of the White Tailed Deer population within urban areas. 

Halifax Regional Municipality and Colchester county are facing issues with these Deer coming into urban areas. This is due to the fact that the deers habitat was destroyed and they are remaining in the area only because they have figured out that if they are near houses or vehicles they won't be shot. That doesn't mean they won't be hit.

This Deer was no more than 3 meters from me. There were actually a trio of them but as a young buck he stayed behind to make sire I wasn't a threat to the 2 does.
