Brickyard Park, Lantz, Nova Scotia

Another canoe launching site on the Shubenacadie river, I paddled by the site in 1986, before it was built. Nice area with hiking trails

Wickwire Park, Milford Nova Scotia

Looking north from the launch
Looking southwards with the bridge to the mine
The path leading to the launch
The launch. Back in 1986 when I paddled from Grand Lake to Milford, this area did not exist. It was either farmland or owned by the mine.
Historical information as to how the river was part of the Shubenacadie canal system
The path from the car park.
The park is one of two along the river in East Hants. The river is the border between East Hants and Halifax Regional Municipality.

As the area is becoming more built up on the Enfield-Lantz-Elmsdale corridor, it's nice to see this area kept. The front of the park also has a corn field being used to promote sustainability in the agricultural sector.
I'd like to be able to canoe down this river again.

Maritimer breakfast Tea and toast

With Crosbys molasses
I put this up on my Facebook page on a Nova Scotian themed page and so many people are geeking out about it. Simple but satisfying

Tin Smith Museum Shubenacadie, Nova Scotia

This community museum was the brain child of my late friend, Ross Macinnis. My son got his first job here this summer as a tour guide.
