New Brunswick also has good hunting.
Most big game hunting in the Maritimes is either Black Bear, or White-tail deer.
Moose and Caribou were the traditional big game, but both were hunted out of the area.
A blog on the provinces of Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, with some bits of Newfoundland and other parts of Canada I've visited. Also, a place to find out about foods, and the music and culture. Also a guide for those who want to live and work in the Maritimes, and to all those who have left the region. Home food: Hamburgers and gravy with mashed potatoes

So we went to a Japanese supermarket, got what they call Hamburger Helper (which is spices and bread crumbs to help your burgers stay together), potatoes, and onions.
I then whipped up a really good maritimer supper. Everyone, including my kids want me to make again. Simple home food, helps cure homesickness, which I get in the summer.
